Sync Contacts to the Cloud - partially works | 29 Jul 10 |
08:25:13 by celem | Views: 14 | Comments: 0
FYI - My phone is identified internally as a PK168 and is marked externally with Apple's logo and iPhone. The firmware version is: F35W_240X320_CLD_IV_Ty1G_WIFI_V006, NEOTEL35_08B_GEMINI_4b347e3a
From getjar I loaded the java sync app Usync. I had to select the CECT A1000 as the phone type because that is the ONLY Chinese phone presented as a choice. I then setup an account on usyncworld.com. Lastly, populated the Usync settings with my login info.
The app successfully transfers data to/from usyncworld, indicating the correct number of contacts sent and received, so all of the basics of sync work. Unfortunately, the data format of the contacts data within the phone don't appear to match that expected by usyncworld because it does not parse the data. Likewise, the phone cannot parse the data received from usyncworld because it cannot parse the contact data received.
So, this app almost works for sync and it would work if either end understood the data format of the other. Obviously, the Contact data format used by the expected CECT A1000 phone is NOT what is used by my PK168 phone.
I am reporting this so that others might try usyncworld.com. Possibly your phone will use the CECT A1000 format expected by usyncworld.com
It would be useful if I could access the actual Contact data file on the phone for examination, but it is hidden and unaccessible.

Removing Default Apps? | 27 Jul 10 |
16:18:57 by celem | Views: 58 | Comments: 1
I have tried Engineering Mode and Factory Mode but cannot find a way to change, delete or add default apps.
Basically, I would like: 1. To be able to place an installed app onto the main screen instead of as a choice within the JAVA applet. 2. I would like to be able to replace an existing default app with another, installed app. Most importantly, I would line to purge the existing default Opera Mini web browser with a new installed copy of Opera or Bolt as the default browser that is started when you click the web icon on the bottom of the screen. 3. I would like to be able to delete ALL of the Chinese language apps that do not display English even though the phone is in English mode.
Any help would be appreciated.

F035 GPS "Open map failed" error | 26 Jul 10 |
14:33:17 by kristik | Views: 47 | Comments: 1
Hey,
I owe a cect f035 phone. The first day i got it, i connected it to my PC, and saw the memory card (microSD card) was almost full. It had .mp3, .mp4, .jpg, .cab, .exe, .db and other files saved in folders named 001XXXX 002XXX 003XXX etc, where XXX is some chinese letters. So, I used "cut" to all of them leaving only the Music, Video, Received etc. I pasted the folders at my PC for further use. After that, I tried to open the GPS. There was that the error "Open map failed" occured. These days I googled for my problem, so I downladed sunavimapdata.rar, and pasted it to my sdcard root dir, with my country's map in it, and with changed multimap.tab. However, "Open map failed" continues. I tried to format the sdcard and paste inside the original folders it had in it, but "Open map failed" continues. I even tried to switch off phone, plug out the sdcard and plug it in again. Same error. ANY information would be valuable. Thanks.
